Moore, OK – Kevin VanDam is once again lurking near the top of the Toyota Angler Of the Year standings four tournaments into the 2017 Bassmaster Elite Series season.  Following a 2nd place finish this past week on Ross Barnett, VanDam sits in 5th place – just 32 points behind current TAOY leader Jason Christie. 

KVD started the season rather quietly, finishing in 62nd place at the season opener on Cherokee Lake.  He bounced back with solid finishes of 24th place on Lake Okeechobee and 29th place on Toledo Bend. 

Monday’s runner-up finish to Dustin Connell on Ross Barnett marked the 16th time in his career with B.A.S.S. that VanDam has finished in 2nd place.   While disappointed that he fell just over 2-pounds short of his 24th career victory, VanDam was optimistic with how his 2017 season is going.
