Matt Herren is well known for his efficiency flipping a big jig or Texas-rigged plastic, but over the past several years he has found an affinity for spinning tackle and light line.  

Dating back to 2015, he has made some serious money with a spinning rod in his hands.  He finished in 8th place at the 2016 TOAY Championship on Mille Lacs using a spinning rod, and he notched a 9th place finish on Cherokee Lake to open the 2017 season using a spinning rod. 

Since 2015, the Alabama pro has recorded top 30 finishes on the St. Lawrence River, Lake St. Clair, Sturgeon Bay, Mille Lacs, Cherokee Lake, and Champlain...all predominantly with an "egg beater."
