The Bass University provides top notch angling instruction online, in the classroom and on the water, and now they’ll extend their classroom abroad, to one of the most fabled fisheries on earth. Pro anglers Mike Iaconelli and Pete “The Dean” Gluszek will be leading a trip to Anglers Inn International’s luxury lodge on famous Lake El Salto from November 6 through 10 of this year.

The trip is open to everyone, but the price will be discounted for Bass University members, making signing up a no-brainer. The normal price of $1965 will be dropped to $1865 for Bass University members until April 15th, or until the trip fills up, whichever comes first. That price includes 4 nights lodging, 3 ½ days of fishing, all food and drink, daily laundry service, and transportation to and from the Mazatlan airport. It does not include airfare to Mazatlan or optional gratuities. Some spaces have already been claimed, so if you want a chance to catch your personal best, and then tell Ike about it over fajitas and a cold margarita, act soon.

This is the lake that Kevin VanDam called his “bucket list” destination for largemouths, and it’s where he caught his personal best limit that weighed over 50 pounds, but every year novices also join the double digit club at El Salto.

“While we welcome anglers of all skill levels at Anglers Inn, it is particularly thrilling to see a skilled fisherman work his craft on a world class fishery,” said Anglers Inn President Billy Chapman Jr., a member of the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. “We look forward to hosting Mike Iaconelli, Pete Gluszek and as many of their students as possible. We think we can provide the perfect laboratory for them to employ what they've learned from their instructors."

Iaconelli, never one to hold back his opinions, was blunt in his assessment of the partnership: “Let me tell you, I’ve fished and traveled all over the world and the fishing and lodging at Billy Chapman’s Anglers Inn is some of the best I’ve ever seen,” he said.

If you’d like to reserve a spot, contact Hanna Robbins at [email protected] immediately. Two lucky Bass University members will be chosen at random for a free trip. If those winners have already signed up, their deposits will be refunded. Robbins cautioned that anyone who wants to sign up but who waits to see if he or she wins may be disappointed when they learn that the trip is full.

“We are excited for our students to experience the world class bass fishing and unmatched hospitality of Anglers Inn,” said The Dean. “Additionally, we plan to give away trips to Anglers Inn for two lucky winners chosen at random from the roster of Bass University classroom students and Bass U TV subscribers. The winners will be announced on Bass U Live so be sure to tune in. Stay tuned for more details and please plan to join us in November.”
