DRAGONFLY - RAYMARINE

TOP THREE IN 2016

Posted by Z3 MEDIA STAFF on 11/14/2016

Moore, OK - Over the course of the 2016 season in professional bass fishing, Matt Pangrac and/or Dave Rush from The BASS ZONE were on-location at every Bassmaster Elite Series tournament as well as the Bassmaster College Series National Championship and the Forrest Wood Cup.

At the conclusion of each day of competition, The BZ published a video story documenting how it all went down.

Here are three of Pangrac’s favorite moments from the 2016 season.  On Wednesday, Dave Rush will give his top three moments from this past season:

RICK CLUNN AT THE ST. JOHNS RIVER
On just the third day of the 2016 Bassmaster Elite Series season on the St. Johns River, Rick Clunn came to the scales with a limit weighing 31-7 to take the tournament lead.  He would go on to win the tournament  the following day – his first victory in 14 years.

KEVIN VANDAM AT TOLEDO BEND
When the Elite Series went to Toledo Bend in May, Kevin VanDam took home the trophy with over 96-pounds of largemouth bass.  The win was VanDam’s first B.A.S.S. victory since the 2011 Bassmaster Classic and his first regular season win since the 2010 season.

GERALD SWINDLE AT MILLE LACS
Gerald Swindle earned his second Toyota Angler Of the Year title in 2016, and he finished the year off on Mille Lacs Lake in Minnesota at  the the TAOY Championship. While Swindle’s Angler Of the Year victory was a near certainty heading into the final tournament of the year, there were still some tense moments and a noticeable sense of relief for Swindle, who earned his first TAOY title in 2004.
