La Crosse, WI – The final regular season stop for the 2016 Bassmaster Elite Series season kicks off tomorrow on the Mississippi River out of La Crosse, Wisconsin.
This is the last full-field tournament of the year, with only the top 50 anglers in the Toyota Angler Of the Year point standings after this week in Wisconsin moving on to compete in Toyota Championship Week next week in Minnesota.

The battle to finish the season inside the top 50 in the TAOY point standings will be close this week, as 40th place and 60th place in the point standings are separated by just 51 points.

The Toyota Angler Of the Year race also reaches a critical point this week on the Mississippi, as a handful of anglers look to track down current TAOY leader Gerald Swindle, who holds a lead of 37 points over Keith Combs.  Entering this week, just five other anglers are within 100 points of Swindle.

This is the third time that the Elite Series has visited the Mississippi River out of La Crosse, and the first time since 2013 when Tommy Biffle won with a total weight of 64 pounds, 2 ounces.  Todd Faircloth took the title in La Crosse in 2012 with 62 pounds, 4 ounces.
