MLF reminds me of a show that I saw as a kid called Shells Wonderful World of Golf. It was a show put on by Arnold Palmer that featured match play golf matches between Pros for some prize.. but its real function was to get exposure of the game of golf on TV. MLF is almost exactly the same thing.. the competitors are competing for a prize.. but the goal is to expose the sport to more and more people.
RE the bowling.. I watched that show as well. I thought it was really strange how Morriss ball reacted to the Wolf oil pattern vs the other guy. His ball broke around the arrows.. then stopped breaking. The other guy.. his ball would not break until it got past the arrows.. then it took off like all hell. I quit bowling in 1985.. so there have been a lot of changes in the sport since then.. so it was interesting to watch. You see more and more 2 handed guys... not using a thumb in the ball. Crazy.

just listened to the interview with the MLF Commissioner.. very good job and I think his approach is really how it should be handled. They are different! I also agree with him that the biggest improvement they could make to the CBS show is to make it 2hr. There is so much time lost that shows the fishermen talking about what they are doing, what they think the other anglers are doing, why they are fishing where they are fishing etc. in the one hour format. The one hour show is like watching the end of NFL Redzone.. where they show all of the scoring plays on that Sunday in about 3 minutes vs the previous 4hr of Redzone. I do think that some better graphics would make the explanations that Mark was looking for would be a good thing.. explaining the rule that was violated to cause the 200 minute penalties.. not just stating that so and so had just had a fish landing violation. 2 minutes.
All in all.. a great interview.. thanks guys
