Gilbertsville, KY – The BASS ZONE has learned by a Press Release from BASS Communications that BASS Officials have officially decided to move the River Rumble out of Fort Madison, Iowa due to recent severe weather and flooding in the area.
BASS announced today that they have moved the tournament to Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville, Tenn. For the same dates that ninth stop on the Elite Series was originally scheduled for, June 26 –29. The new moniker of the event will be ‘The Tennessee Triumph’ presented by Longhorn.
The BASS ZONE learned last evening at the registration and pairings meeting for the Bluegrass Brawl that BASS Officials would be making a decision by this Friday on whether to move the event. The decision to move the event has been made, and Old Hickory Lake, as well as Cheatham Lake will remain off limits until official practice begins on Monday June 23.
“Our first priority is the safety of all those involved with BASS events,” said Tom Ricks, general manager and vice president of BASS. “We appreciate the flexibility of both Fort Madison and Hendersonville and we look forward to hosting events at both locations in the near future. Our thoughts and prayers are with those in Iowa who have been affected by the recent floods.”
According to the BASS press release, Old Hickory and Hendersonville, will now host back to back BASS events as the Women’s Bassmaster Tour will be on the lake the preceding week for its third stop on their schedule.
Daily tournament launches and weigh-ins will take place at Sanders Ferry Park in Hendersonville. Launches will begin at 6 a.m. CT and weigh-ins will start at 2:30 p.m. CT.
The BASS ZONE will immediately reschedule travel plans to bring you all the details of the Tennessee Triumph presented by Longhorn, as we continue to bring you on location coverage of the entire 2008 Bassmaster Elite Series.
