OAU EVENT SET FOR OCTOBER 20-21

State Championship to be Held on Lake Eufaula

Muskogee, OK - Oklahoma Anglers Unlimited (OAU) announced recently the organization will be hosting the OAU State Championship, Presented by Carr &Carr, October 20-21 on Lake Eufaula.

This year’s event will be expanded over last year's championship.  The 2007 championship will feature a live auction, on site for the viewers.  Auction items will include a range of fishing and outdoors products.

A portion of any proceeds from the event will be placed into the OAU endowment fund to help fund projects of interest to Oklahoma anglers.

The money raised during the 2006 OAU State Championship were uses for improvements to the facility on Eufaula’s Nichols point launch area. Specifically, the funds were used to purchased re-bar and concrete for the lakeside weigh-in pavilion.

OAU announced last year this annual event would be hosted the weekend before the opening of muzzle-loading season each year as a static date in an effort to avoid as many conflicts as possible.

OAU will provide food and beverages to all of the contestants after the day one weigh-in. Along with the dinner, a LIVE auction will be conducted at the conclusion of the day one activities. A partial list of items to be auctioned are as follows: OK lifetime fishing license, years supply of Castrol TCW-3 oil, Motorguide Trolling Motor, Lowrance Electronics, Scott Suggs Jersey and the million dollar bait, numerous other pro jerseys and items, 2iG Ultrastrike Pro Series Rods, guided hunting and fishing trips, Smokehouse Smoker and to many other items to list.

Launch will be from the Peters/Nichols/South Point and weigh-in location will be at the North Pavilion facility at the entrance to Eufaula Cove.
