Norman,
OK.
– The week of September 24 marks the beginning of perhaps the busiest season in the professional bass fishing industry. Following the close of the 2007 Elite Series season at Lake Toho in Kissimmee, Fla., the BASS ZONE .com staff took a much needed week long break from day to day operations.
But, the fishing world waits for no one, and BASS ZONE.com is committed to serving the fishing industry, the fishing fans and the professional anglers throughout the year. 2007 has been a testament to that commitment, and as we look forward to 2008, we wanted to thank the industry, the pros, and the fans. We also wanted to give a glimpse into what we are working on heading into next season.

First of all, 2007 was our second year of on location coverage of the Bassmaster Elite Series, and it has been a memorable year. The BASS ZONE has been a part of recording history from coast to coast, and it was an honor to provide coverage of the pros for the fans and viewers.
BASS ZONE’s on location coverage would not have been possible had it not been for the willingness of the pros to let us into their world as they do their jobs. It is you that makes it possible for us to do what we love to do; cover the sport of bass fishing, and your accomplishments; thank you.

BASS ZONE also wishes to thank the staff and Communication Departments of ESPN / BASS and FLW Outdoors for your help in providing expanded coverage to the fishing fans. You all are true professionals, we truly enjoyed working with you this year, and look forward to doing it again in 2008.
The BASS ZONE is not an organization that rests on the laurels of what we have done; as a result we are building on the foundation of the past two years. The BASS ZONE is working on a number of projects for 2008 that will help take our coverage to a higher level. Here are some of the things we have in store.
In The House
The In the House segments have been extremely popular, and The BASS ZONE will be busy in the final three months of 2007 filming and producing new In the House episodes. Filming will begin in October and will start airing in December. Tommy Biffle, Mark Tyler, Skeet Reese, Boyd Duckett, Peter Thliveros, Marty Stone and Britt Meyers have all made commitments to open their homes for In the House.
BASS ZONE.com Enhancements
BASS ZONE.com will feature a new look for 2008. The site will feature a new, clean and simple look to enhance navigation and accessibility. The new and improved BASS ZONE .com will feature a new message board and a new live chat section for on and off the water real time interaction with the pros and BZ Staff. The enhanced BZ v.2K8 is projected for launch on December 1, 2007.
Wide Open
BASS ZONE introduced “Wide Open” on the Elite Series New York Swing. Wide Open featured on location interviews with the pros, and tournament updates and analysis by hosts Mark Jeffreys and ‘The Legend’ Harold Allen. Wide Open will feature new additions to professional bass fishing’s only independent on location coverage. Here’s a hint… It’s all about Being There, and then some.
Classic Coverage
The Legend and Mark will be at the 2008 Bassmaster Classic for BASS ZONE’s on location coverage at Lake Hartwell. Look for details of our coverage to be posted in December of 2008, and Mark and Harold will have a new look for the big event.
The Top 6 List
2006 marked the first year for the BZ Top 6 List. This year, the Top 6 List will continue with some new categories and
features from the 2007 season. The first
Top 6 list will be posted in October and run through the end of the year.
BASS ZONE on the Radio
BASS ZONE Live is heard on KREF AM1400 in Norman, Okla. that can be heard throughout the metro Oklahoma City area. BASS ZONE Live will continue to focus on National, Regional and the Oklahoma Bass Fishing Scene. BASS ZONE Live airs on Monday Night at 7:00 PM CST.
The BASS ZONE on XM Sports Nation will continue to air on
XM Sports Nation Channel 144 throughout the off season and will remain a part of the BZ Feature Lineup through 2009. A new XM Replay page will be a part of the BASS ZONE website upgrade. The BASS ZONE on XM will additional new features in 2008, including a chance to spend a day on a lake with one of the nation’s top touring bass fishing professionals.
Other Items
The BASS ZONE is currently working on a clothing line for 2008 featuring the BASS ZONE brand as well as other co-branded items featuring the BASS ZONE Logo. Our goal is to have some of these items available for Christmas.
As always, we are looking for ways to expand our on location coverage of the sport of professional bass fishing, so look for more developments and announcements as the 2008 season approaches.
The reality of the BASS ZONE would not be possible if it were not for the viewers and the sponsors. Viewers, please e-mail the BZ staff any recommendation for the upcoming year. Our resources are expanding and we want to give the BZ viewers an experience that will keep the viewer coming back for more.
Thank you for all the support during the 2007 season and Stay Tuned!
